The DR-1 Field Recording Pack combines TASCAM’s best-selling DR-1 portable recorder with the TASCAM TM-ST1 stereo microphone. The DR-1 recorder also has its own microphones of course, a pair of condenser mics in A-B pattern for natural sounding recordings. The TASCAM DR-1 Field Recorder captures sound in MP3 or WAV format, 24-bit or 16-bit, and includes a 1GB SD Card to start recording right away. The DR-1 recorder also includes an overdub mode with effects to record over your previous recording to make a complete production.
Adding the TASCAM TM-ST1 microphone gives added flexibility while recording to the DR-1 recorder. The mic can be placed in the perfect spot while keeping the DR-1 recorder close at hand to operate its controls. The TM-ST1 mic permits the stereo image to be widened, to capture more ambiance or audience sound, or narrowed to reduce background noise. The TM-ST1 mic plugs into the TASCAM DR-1 recorder’s 1/8″ mic input—or to any other recorder—for a detailed stereo sound with perfect mono compatibility.

A pair of microphones is mounted on a variable angle mechanism, which allows the recorder to record from almost any angle. The DR-1 also includes auto gain control and analog limiting for easy setup and a low-frequency cutoff to eliminate handling or wind noise.
Tascam TM-ST1 Stereo Microphone TASCAM’s TM-ST1 is a stereo microphone with stereo pattern switching. The recordist can select between 90 and 120 degree pickup to capture more ambience or to reduce background noise. The mid-side design captures a wide stereo field while maintaining a solid center image.
The TM-ST1 uses a back-electret condenser design for crisply detailed audio with a long battery life for portable recording. The output cable terminates to a 3.5mm stereo jack, ideal for plugging into a DR-1 recorder.
Also included is a microphone clip, table-top stand and windscreen. The microphone is battery-powered and designed to run for hours and hours.
Ideal for live recording, the TM-ST1 is a perfect accessory for TASCAM recorders. Plug it into the portable DR-1, or use it with the DP-02, DP-02CF or 2488mkII Digital Portastudios (with an adapter cable). The mic can also be used with the US-122L or US-144 for portable recording into a laptop.
